Christmas Just Around the Bend.

As, I'm sure, you are all aware, Christmas is merely 5 days away! To me that means, next to nothing. I know it's both, supposed to be, a celebration of Jesus' birth and a time to spend with family. However, this year it doesn't feel as if there is any significance. It's coming and going like the wind... swiftly, I might add. Christmas being so close, means that the new year is just around the second bend... then what? What does it matter that the new year is just around the corner? To me, nothing. It's becoming merely another couple of days... is that bad? I don't know. That's how it goes when you become desensitized to the longings of the world I suppose... no need for presents, no need to get drunk, no need to worry about the new year. Don't get me wrong, I'm going to spend time with my family for Christmas, but it's just sort of routine, not that it's any more special than any other time I visit... whoa is me this Christmas season.

Cheer up emo kid... life's not that bad! Have a fun, and safe holiday everybody. Until then... see you on the darkside!

You get what you put into things--therefore if you want something out of the holidays you have to work for it. :P Go give some money to the freezing dude/girl ringing the Salvation Army bell! Or something! Which reminds me, we saw a guy today, ringing the bell and dancing to keep away the cold. Cool dude. (literally!)

But then what do I know? I LOVE Christmas! So it's impossible for me to be too emo about it all. :P

Also (I was thinking about this last night some more haha) the whole "desensitized to the longings of this world" thing you said? That's a cop-out. It's not just worldly things you don't care about here--you're not even enthused about the celebration of your own savior's birth. You're letting yourself wallow in doom and gloom, and excusing it with "oh but the world is evil and I'm noble for not caring about worldly desires."

If you're feeling nothing but apathy this season there's only one person to blame...
